It's all too easy for new drummers to set up an electric kit in a way that is a) totally unsuitable for their size/height, and b) nothing at all like an acoustic kit - as a drum tutor I've seen some real shockers in my time!
With years of experience as a drum teacher, I often help pupils get their new kits set up ergonomically for them - perfectly spaced, and arranged to exactly resemble a proper acoustic kit.
This is essential to practice with correct technique, avoid potential injuries, and means switching between playing at home and during drum lessons in the studio feels natural.
If you're lucky enough to be able to play acoustic drums at home, you've probably figured out tuning them is very tricky, with LOTS of variables - it requires the keen, trained ear of a drum teacher, and an understanding of the principles involved.
If you don't know what you're doing you'll spend hours fiddling, only to find your drums sound worse than before - and it drives you mad!
As a pro drum tutor I'll replace your drum heads properly, and tune your kit to sound fantastic - quickly! I can also give tuning drum lessons to show you every step of the process, so you'll know what you're doing in future...
Nikki, mum of 8 yr old pupil
